By doing 'miles for muscles' you will be helping Kiwis who suffer from muscle-wasting conditions, known to most as 'muscular dystrophy'.
Every mile you make, every dollar you raise, ensures Muscular Dystrophy Association raises much needed funds and awareness to support our MDA community.
The challenge is to choose an activity that uses your muscles, then the number of miles you will do, during the week of the 16th of September.
Whether you walk, bike, run, swim, scooter or drive (virtual included), you can move and groove anytime and anywhere!
Sign up to Miles for Muscles as an individual or a team and you’ll get your own fundraising page. Or you can donate to someone who has already signed up.
Spread the word far and wide - ask family, friends and colleagues for donations. Once you’ve raised $100, we’ll send you you’re very own Miles for Muscles T-shirt!
Run, zoom in your wheelchair, swim some laps or do anything else that clocks some miles during the week of the 16th of September.
Share your fundraising page via email and social media using #mdanz and #MilesForMuscles - the more people you tell, the more donations we’ll get!
Children who have muscular dystrophy and their families, just like Mads and Harper and their parents Chiquita and Brady, are among those who will be impacted by the funds raised during Miles for Muscles. You can read their story here.
By taking part in Miles for Muscles, you’ll be helping our members benefit from essential services that the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) provides, to ensure their unique needs are met.
Whether it's a member who is newly diagnosed or someone affected by the progressive nature of their neuromuscular condition, everyone needs support at different stages. That's why the condition-specific support and coffee groups offered by MDA are so beneficial. Led by our local Fieldworkers, they have become a vital support system for individuals and their whanau.
Sign up today to do some Miles for Muscles – you’ll be making a world of difference to the lives of members just like Mads and Harper.
